GIVEAWAY: Loreena McKennitt CD



Loreena McKennitt is set to release her new CD entitled "The Journey So Far: The Best of Loreena McKennitt" on March 4th. I will be hosting a giveaway for one winner to win their own copy of this CD or you can

Ms. McKennitt’s extensive traveling in pursuit of the history of the Celts, from Mongolia and China to Turkey and Siberia, has shaped her distinctive eclectic Celtic sound, which marries Eastern, Middle Eastern and Celtic musical traditions with her own lyrics and those by great poets like Shakespeare, W.B. Yeats and Alfred Lord Tennyson.

You might be familiar with McKennitt 's 1997 song The Mummers' Dance, which you can check out below:


In addition to that track, the album features a selection of 11 other fan favorites curated by McKennitt herself, including “Bonny Portmore,” a traditional Irish folk song included on the soundtrack to Highlander III—The Sorcerer, as well as “Dante’s Prayer,” which led to her citation in Dan Brown’s best-selling Inferno. The set also includes “The Mystic’s Dream,” which was used extensively in The Mists of Avalon, a critically acclaimed mini-series starring Anjelica Huston.

    I'm afraid to admit I'm not too familiar with her music ;)! However, I always LOVE "Best of..." albums, because they are always great! Thanks for sharing.

    "The Mummers' Dance is so mesmerizing. The melody is great and the lyrics are wonderful. I have been a big of fan of Loreena McKinnett for years.

    The Mummer's Dance is one of my favorite songs from Loreena McKennitt. I love her historical and fantasy-themed music. It's just gorgeous. Thanks for the chance to win!
