GIVEAWAY and Review: Stay Sharp Commuter Cuff

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

My Thoughts:

I was looking forward to reviewing the Stay Sharp Commuter Cuff from Exposed Seam because I thought the idea was a very clever and useful one. I really wish I would have had this cuff before I did the Gorilla Run that I was biking with my children in the bike trailer. I had to roll up my gorilla leg because it was getting caught by the chain. Below you will see a picture of me wearing the cuff with a pair of jeans when I was biking with my kids to the park (my son's first time riding his own bike to the park and back). When I am biking with my family I usually ride the hybrid bike pictured below and might be wearing more casual clothing, which means that I may have pant legs that are not stuck to me (like my workout clothes) and are more likely to get caught. I used to have to roll up one of my legs of my pants, which looks silly but at least I am not endangering myself. With the Stay Sharp Commuter Cuff, my pants legs are held down and close to my skin and my shoelaces can be kept down on my shoe (no flying up and potentially getting caught).

I also wanted to note that I love that they added reflective fabric at the back of the cuff. You can never have too much reflective wear when you are biking. Because of that reflective fabric, I might still wear this cuff when I am on my road bike and wearing bike shorts and my velcro road bike shoes. The cuff is so light you hardly notice it is there and I left it on the entire time I was playing at the park with my kids.

Product Description from Exposed Seam:

Combining a love for accessories with a passion for products that solve problems, Boston based company Exposed Seam offers a StaySharp Commuter Cuff for those who commute on bicycles. No longer necessary are rubber bands, rolled up pants, grease on clothing, or shoe laces caught in chains. StaySharp’s unique shape keeps pants clean and helps keep laces away from your gears and chain – plus riders won’t look like they are digging for clams.

Exposed Seam’s patent pending cuffs are made in the USA, out of Cordura® fabric produced in the USA. They are designed for the right leg, but can be worn on both sides, and its reflective trim on the back seam helps riders stay safe. One size fits most.

  1. I would totally wear this while biking through the wilderness trails. I always seem to get the ends of my pants caught on something & end up toppling over.
