I am excited to share with you my review of this charming CD, La Bella Stella, from Recess Music, but first I want to tell you a little bit about Recess Music. Recess Music is a locally-based (well, locally to me) company in St. Paul, Minnesota. The company was founded by Nancy Doan, who is a mom who sang songs to her kids and started this business after getting requests for her lyrics and at the same time realizing that she could do her part to help save Mother Earth through music. I love it!
"Playtime for Your Ears"
La Bella Stella is scheduled to be released at the end of March and can be purchased from their website starting next week. And what's more - A portion of the proceeds from CD sales will be donated to the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center in Concord, New Hampshire.
I thought the music on this CD was very calming and was a good choice when we are winding down for bedtime or naptime, or just needed some time to relax. It's hard to pick a favorite, but if I had to pick my top two songs I would have to say they are "Nature's Lullaby" and "Nocturnal". The CD is comprised of 15 songs from 15 different artists. This is a wonderful way to introduce your children to a variety of musical styles and sounds.
Other CDs by Recess Music include the titles: Celebrate Earth, Wild Child, Veggie Soup, Ocean Motion, Big Bully, and UR Some 1. Most of these CDs donate a portion of the proceeds to different foundations that are related to the music theme of that CD, which I think is a fantastic way for Recess Music to give back.
