Don't throw away (well, recycle if you aren't going to do this tip) the pie tins you have leftover after buying a store/restaurant made pie. Keep them, wash and re-use them. You can use them as your own personal pie tins, but they also make a great container to leave at a potluck or a to bring someone a gift of a pie.
Save the small tins you get with pot pies too! Those make wonderful mini pies. I always seem to have extra filling when I make a pumpkin pie and this is perfect. The mini pie tins also make wonderful items for a child's play kitchen.
