GIVEAWAY and Review: National Geographic Super Readers

I was very excited to be able to both review the National Geographic Super Reader kit on my blog and share it with my playgroup. Prior to being accepted in to this program we already owned one of the Pre-Reader books (there are two) and one of the Level 1 books (there is 11 in this level) and now we received one of the Level 2 books (out of 19 books) as part of our kit. There is seven Level 3 books in the program.

So, I bet you are wondering what exactly this program is and how much it costs. Well, it only costs as much as you decide to pay for the books. The books I bought were from the Scholastic book club that comes home with the kids and both of them were $1 books. Or you can check them out from the library for free. And of course you can buy it from them their website or Amazon.

Once you have obtained the book(s), your child will read the book and they can cross off that book (you can download the super reader poster for FREE) and as they cross off the books you can go to the website and download badges that correspond with the number of books read, as well as earn downloadable prizes that include: bookmarks, iron-on transfer, and magnets. All of those items are free to download.  There are also puzzles and quizzes that kids can do that correspond to some of the books.

About National Geographic Super Readers
• Developed in consultation with literacy education experts, each National Geographic Super Reader is filled
with cool information about nonfiction topics kids love such as dinosaurs, tigers, planes and trains, plus
big, colorful photographs, all in an easy-to-read and kid-friendly design.
• With fun incentives to keep reading, an interactive website, and fun characters to get to know, the National
Geographic Super Readers program has everything you need to get kids SUPER excited about reading.
• At kids.nationalgeographic.com/superreader, kids can sign up to become Super Readers, download the
Super Readers poster, and start reading! Once they finish their book, they can cross it off on their poster
and start getting fun rewards and prizes.

We read to our kids every day, so I am in support of programs that help encourage kids to continue to read and learn. I am also very interested in teaching my children about science-based subjects so that they are learning to read as well as learning scientific facts.

I received a  National Geographic Super Readers activity kit along with a poster, a book, a brochure, bookmarks, and badges.

THREE LUCKY READERS WILL ALSO WIN A NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC SUPER READERS ACTIVITY KIT.
