In this day & age when more and more things are done on the computer, we still NEED pens. I may not write as many letters as I used to, but I think I write more lists that I used to and I like those list to be on paper. List for groceries, a Target Run, blog post ideas, activity options for my children, Christmas lists and many more lists.
The first time I picked up the Uglee Pen, I noticed it was thicker when I hold it because of the ergonomic grip. Just holding it I thought it might feel awkward because of the thickness, but then I started pressing down on it as I wrote and I thought, "Ooooh, this is nice." Normally I would get a pink indentation after writing, but I did not. There was no discomfort at all. It was very comfortable to use and after writing two things on my grocery list I found I wanted to use it more and got my notebook of lists out to add to them as well.
My only problem now is keeping my daughter from taking the grip off my pens and putting them on her pencils. Apparently it's the in thing in her class to have grips in your pencils and several other pens in our house have become victim. Maybe I should suggest that they sell the grippers to add to pencils.
They do sell the ink insert refills, which I think is a wonderful option to help reduce waste and promote a greener earth. Keep the outside of your pen and just replace the consumable part of the pen. Love that!
From Uglee Pen:
The UGLee Pen is good for everyone who writes (even just a grocery list), and is especially helpful to people who experience pain and discomfort when writing, for example those with arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, etc.,. It's also the best writing utensil for children who are learning to write and are developing fine motor skills, as well as helpful for special-needs children who find holding a pen or pencil properly difficult. And for high-school and college students who have to take copious notes, this pen helps keep hands and fingers from cramping.

Invented by Dr. Lee whose drive to create the ultimate comfort pen led him to go as far as to study the structure of the human hand using X-ray and researching the attachment and function of hand muscles to design the perfect grip.

ReplyDeleteTwo things stand out: One it was invented by an MD, Dr. Lee who suffered all through Med school taking notes with regular user unfriendly PENS (although most doctors' handwriting is STILL impossible to read...!)
ReplyDeleteAnd also caused me to see name "UGLEE" which I had originally though of as kind of a turn-off name - and gave it a new warm and fuzzy and user-friendly name: His own + the UGH experience of writing with an uncomfortable pen - now I can really relate to that!

I love Uglee Pens, I have had a few so I am very familiar with them
ReplyDeleteI learned you can only buy them online and they're 3 for $20 so I would hate to lose one! They look sort of fun to try though.
ReplyDeleteI learned that the UGLee Pen only weighs 11 grams. That is less than 1/2 ounce! Less mass, means less inertia, more comfort.
