Because of the Runnerbox Challenge last month, I started thinking about what what my fitness goals were going to be. I looked back at what goals I had for myself in regards to fitness and there is one that I just have not made a priority and that is to do an Indoor Triathalon. I know it's not as long as an outdoor one, but I want to start somewhere and not be so worried about the swimming piece in terms of being able to complete the swim or the temperature of the water. I know if I try an indoor one first I will have a better idea if I want to ever do any outdoors.
The next goals involve just trying some new things like Stand Up Paddleboarding and Aerial Yoga (this I have to find a place that allows drop-ins!) or why not combine the two for SUP Yoga. :) And I do want to get better at Water Skiing. I did it once last summer and think I would like to try it some more.
Last week I told you about the Gorilla Run, which so far is the only race I am signed up for and am pretty excited it is something I am doing with my husband. I have honestly not given it a lot of thought what other runs I will do in 2014, perhaps there is another half marathon in my future to make it #3. Maybe May!
I just plan to keep on, keeping on! Doing 5-7 classes a week and running with friends when I can. Having goals is good for me and now that we have rounded the corner on a new year I am getting more motivated to fill up my calendar with some other races. I just have a hard time thinking of running outdoors when it is so cold out! But if it's going to be cold, I hope we get lots of snow because I would really like to get out a lot to enjoy Winter Sports and do some cross country skiing, snow shoeing, sledding with my kids and even take my daughter tubing for her first time down a ski hill.
Wow, that made me tired just reading your post! But I really can't complain because I plan on starting regular yoga this year. Water skiing, though? You go, girl!
ReplyDeleteI have a friend back home that does SUP Yoga. I would LOVE to try it but the water up here in Oregon is just too cold for comfort.
ReplyDeleteWHOA!! That sounds like a crazy-awesome schedule for sure - I can't wait to come back and read about your progress!! I didn't even know there was a such thing as indoor triathlons - very cool! If you're interested, feel free to drop by my blog and link this post up - I'm hosting a "Fitness Friday" each week. I'm hoping that everyone who links up will support each other and encourage the fitness to continue. This post and all of your progress would be great to keep up on! Hope to see you there!

ReplyDeleteI would love to try yoga sometime! Right now I am exclusively lifting weights and that is working out great for me, but I think yoga would be a great stress reliever.
ReplyDeleteI just hit a bit of unmotivation lately! Need to get back to it-I always feel good once I get going!
ReplyDeleteIs it bad that the only goals I've finished are my blogging goals? I need to really start on my life and fitness goals soon!
ReplyDeleteWay to go Jessica! Those sound fun :)
