GIVEAWAY and Review: Barber Shop Shave Soap

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

Another opportunity for my husband to help me out on a review and this time it is for Bebelush Old Fashioned Shave Soap. I chose to have him try out the scent of Bay Rum, Orange and Clove but they also sell it in the scent of Cedarwood, Cassia, and Clove. The tin is the perfect size to take with you when you travel and since it is a solid you don't have to fit in your quart bag like you would with your shaving cream or gel.

This picture you can see what the Shave Soap looks like inside the container. The shave soap is naturally colored using chlorophyll (for this product) and cocoa powder (in the other scent). There are no synthetic fragrances, dyes or preservatives. Also, the soap is vegetable based, in addition to shea and cocoa butter.

This is my husband's first time using Old Fashioned Shave Soap and he will have to get used to this product as opposed to his traditional shaving cream. You do have to work the soap a bit to get up a lather, but it doesn't take too long. The shave soap is scented but it is so lightly scented with essential oils that you will barely notice it and it won't compete with any after shave or cologne you make use.

This Barbershop Shave Soap does lather up but he might need to use even more soap to get a really thick lather. When I looked at the tin after he used it it barely looked like any soap was used, so I think this 4oz tin may last quite a while.

I'm for anything that is natural and chemical free, especially when it is going on the face! That looks like a great shave product.

  2. For some reason, I like Taylor Bare with his old man beard. He does like to shave, though, so I'll make sure he is aware of this product. Thank you for sharing it!

  7. First of all, thank you for bringing the whole safety razor idea to my attention. My boyfriend was going through a razor head a day (and with those new-fangled razors it was super expensive) and still not getting a very good shave. So after reading your post, I figured we had nothing to lose by trying a safety razor. It's made a huge difference both in terms of quality of shave and cost. On a job interview he even got asked by the interviewer how he got such a close shave (unfortunately it didn't get him the job, but maybe next time)!

  8. Second, if I got to try a shave soap, I'd like to get him the cedarwood scented one. Although I'm not sure what cassia is.
