Review: Disney On Ice - Let's Celebrate

This review was written by my friend Melissa, whom I gave the opportunity to review Disney on Ice: Let's Celebrate for Save Green Being Green.

My two boys (ages 9 & 7), my husband and I went to Disney on Ice: Let's Celebrate at the Target Center in Minneapolis. First of all, our seats were great!! Center ice and not a bad distance away. My boys were a little worried walking in seeing a lot of young kids going to the show. Once we found our seats and the show started they changed their minds rather quickly.

First up was of course Mickey and Minnie with the "brooms". The brooms were great skaters and the fact that they looked like they were glowing really caught my boys and my attention. I personally LOVE watching skating and also love Disney so I needed no convincing that this show was going to be fantastic! Then, out came the princesses. Of course for boys they are not a usual highlight, but because of the music, special effects and the great 'couple' skating we were all mesmerized!!

Next were the villains. Of course that got my boys attention, they loved the villains, mostly Captain Hook! Great acting from all. Next was Lilo, Stitch and family. My boys really liked watching them when they were younger so it was fun to see them in "real life"!!

Then came Toy Story!! Once again another favorite for my boys! We couldn't believe how the dinosaur, pig and a few others could even skate in their costumes!!

The professional skaters, special effects like 'fireworks', the color changing ice with each group or couple depending on what color they were wearing and lighting the ice on fire made this show one we all enjoyed to the fullest! Disney definitely knows how to grab the attention of all ages, young, old and in between!! We would definitely go again when they come back to Minnesota! Thank you Disney for a wonderful family night!! Thank you Feld Entertainment and Jessica (Save Green Being Green) for the wonderful seats!!

This show will be performed all weekend at the Target Center, so why not go check it out for yourself!

Free passes from Feld Entertainment were provided for the purpose of reviewing Disney on Ice on this blog. No monetary compensation was received. All thoughts, opinions, and pictures belong to SGBG.

Review: Disney on Ice - Passport to Adventure

I had the chance to take my kids with me to review Disney on Ice - Passport to Adventure when they were at the Xcel Center last weekend. I am not sure if bloggers are supposed to have a favorite, but this has been my favorite Disney on Ice show so far. Some of the skating was awesome to watch with all the tricks and the production was spectacular! There was many different light changes and use of bubbles and a strobe light as well as they has a second level.

The kids are all waiting for the show to begin. My daughter in the middle looks bug eyed. Makes me laugh.

The first part of the show was the Lion King. They did a great job of taking a 90 minute movie and turning it in to a 15 minute segment.

The Lion Kind portion had some amazing skating techniques and tricks that were performed. It was so fun to watch!

As the theme was Passport to Adventure, we were traveling. And so we went from the jungle to the ocean to visit the Little Mermaid. They had wonderful costumed skaters that were different sea creatures.

Then there was the HUGE sea witch that was defeated and basically deflated in front of the audience.

From the ocean our voyage took us to an island to visit Lilo and Stitch. This is actually one Disney movie my kids have never seen, but not after watching it on Disney on Ice they can't wait to get the DVD and watch it at home.

That Stitch! He is quite the character!

Being goofy with my daughter and trying to ignore that I was getting sick. I now have viral lyrangitis. Ugh! No talking for me for a while. Might need to blog more this week to get things off my mind.

Hula dancers as part of Lilo and Stitch.

Intermission time and the kids wanted to get a closer look at the ice.

A nice smiley picture with my son, the culprit who shared his germs with me and got me sick. Thanks buddy!

Goof ball put a smiley face stamp on his head upside down at preschool that morning.

Our final adventure was to Merry ole England to visit Peter Pan, Tinkerbell and the kids in the nursery.  They all flew from the second floor stage down to the main stage where the ice was, and flew back up again later.

The humongous crocodile was pretty awesome and even appeared to gobble Captain Hook!

Of course Mickey and Minnie were there too and opened and closed the show!

I highly recommend going to check out this Disney on Ice if it comes to a city near you!

Disney On Ice presents Passport to Adventure Coming to the Xcel

We are sooooooo excited to be seeing the Disney on Ice Show Passport to Adventure, which will be at the Xcel Center December 12-15. Since it is over 3 days, you will have plenty of show options to choose from! We have been to two other Disney on Ice shows last year and this one is different than both of those. If you were there to see one of the shows last year, than you will be pleased to learn this one is different. There will be another new show coming late this winter, but why wait? Take your kids to see this one, or better yet, go see both of them! I am most excited about seeing Peter Pan and Wendy and the big pirate ship. It looks so cool in the pictures on the Disney on Ice website. Also, check out the other Disney on Ice Shows we have seen:

Disney on Ice "Worlds of Fantasy"

We had a wonderful time at Disney on Ice "Worlds of Fantasy", although due to needing for my husband's flight to get in we missed the first 15 minutes of the 2 hour show, which is when Cars was featured. So, be sure to not be late if that is one that you want to see, we did catch the last minutes of them being out.

Each of the 4 groups of characters reenacted the movies in which they play, Cars, The Little Mermaid, Tinkerbell and the Disney Fairies, and Toy Story (they appeared in that order.) They had the first 3 scenes over 1 1/4 hours and then we were given a 15 minute intermission and came back for Toy Story.

Last night was the first show! So you still have 3 more days of the show to catch it! This is the first time that the "Worlds of Fantasy" show has been in the Twin Cities, so you don't want to miss this. It was truly a spectacular show that you don't want to miss with your kids.

I was given free tickets to this show in order to help promote it on my blog through a giveaway and this review afterwards. I did not receive any monetary compensation.

This will be an event that the Little Ones in your life will never forget and will enjoy so much.

Disney On Ice "Worlds Of Fantasy" - $10 Tickets!!!

I am SOOOOOO excited! I will be taking my kids to see the Disney on Ice "Worlds of Fantasy" at the Target Center in Minneapolis in less than a month! One of things I read in the above link is that ticket holders can come an hour early for a Disney Princess Pre-Show to see an enchanting display of Disney Princess gowns and mementos.

As soon as my son saw the picture of Cars, he exclaimed "Those are my favorite! That's my show!" had to run and find his Mater toy to play with and as soon as I tell him Toy Story 3 will be featured I am sure he will be running to get his Buzz Lightyear doll. My daughter is equally excited about the Little Mermaid and Tinkerbell and the Disney Fairies.

This is the FIRST TIME that "Worlds of Fantasy" has played in the Twin Cities!!!

$10 TICKETS are available for opening night!
