I had the opportunity to review this 3pc. Stainless Steel Dish Set from Life Without Plastic. I was very excited about it because as we hear more and more about how plastic can leach chemicals in to our food I am more and more determined to eliminate plastic whenever possible and start using more glass, ceramics, and stainless steel.
I took this picture of the box so that you could see the measurements of each piece in the set. I would say that they are appropriately sized for what portions sizes we are supposed to be consuming, not what we actually do consume.
This picture of the box was to point out that both the bowl and the tumbler are insulated. This is really beneficial when you have really cold liquids in the them because you are not going to freeze your fingers and it helps to keep your items cold as they won't warm up too fast.
As you can see these are plenty big enough. I have a 1/2 C of berries in the bowl, so it would very nicely fit in a 1C serving of cereal with milk. The tumbler fits 8oz of your preferred beverage nicely. And the plate has on it 1/2 C of tomato slices and a rather large baked potato and there is still ample room to put some other type of food item on this plate.
Product Information from Life Without Plastic:
It is made of the high quality food grade 18-8/304 stainless steel, and has been tested for lead in compliance with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (2008) (CPSIA) and the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act (CCPSA).
The unbreakable set includes a good-sized plate with special flattened sides to make it easy for small hands to carry. There is also an insulated, double-walled bowl and tumbler to protect those same hands from hot foods and liquids. They keep warm things warm, and cool things cool!
This plastic-free set comes in our own eco-friendly cardboard box, and makes a stunning gift that will last for generations. Great also for camping and beach dining!
And yes, while it works wonderfully for children, it is a good-sized set and is much-loved by adults too.
The set is not microwave safe, but it is dishwasher safe.

These are so great and I love stainless steel ware because they are easier to clean, more long lasting than glass or porcelain the only downside is they are not good for hot beverage or meals. Great give away too.
