Color Sight Word Photo Scavenger Hunt
I did this activity with my son when he was in preschool. I sent him on a color sight word photo scavenger hunt. Now, colors are great, scavenger hunts are a ton of fun, but what really makes this activity a blast is that they get to take photos.
So, find something you have that takes photos that you don't mind letting your child use and send them on a mission to find all ten colors. Perhaps you will have a camera they can use or your phone (or even an old phone with a camera on it that you don't have service on, it can still be used for the camera - plus did you know you can use it with apps over wifi - you can even put google hangouts on your phone to have a phone number and texting number) or maybe you have a tablet with a camera.
They will have so much fun with this activity.

GIVEAWAY and Review: Shutterfly 5x5 Photo Block
SPRING FEVER GOT YOU THINKING ABOUT DOING
SOME RE-DECORATING?
EVEN SMALL CHANGES AND ADDITIONS TO YOUR DECOR CAN CHANGE
HOW A ROOM LOOKS AND FEELS.
I have been thinking lately how I want to change up our family room or our living room, but the only problem is the layout of the room doesn't allow for me to re-arrange furniture. So, when I get this bug to re-decorate I need to do by changing out pillows, artwork and other accessories.
Shutterfly offers several options that will allow you to update the look of a room and personalize it with photos at the same time. Prints on stretched canvas are very popular right now and Shutterfly offers a large variety of New Canvas Prints Designs. I really like the idea of the Classic Baby print, I did something similar with photos for my children, but this would be easier to do without having to line up pictures correctly behind a matte and includes text as well.
Another way to quickly update the look of a room without additional supplies is with Wall Decals. Shutterfly offers an extensive selection of New Wall Decal Designs. I absolutely love that these wall decals are available with photos. I Sooooooo want the superhero set for my son and the flower power set for my daughter.
CHECK OUT ALL OF SHUTTERFLY'S 16 PHOTO HOME DECOR PRODUCTS!
ONE OF MY READERS WILL BE LUCKY AND GET A FREE 5X5 PHOTO BLOCK TO
HELP JUMP START THEIR SPRING RE-DECORATING!!!!
I will be receiving a 5x5 photo block from Shutterfly for the purpose of reviewing the product and promoting Shutterfly's Home Decor products. No monetary compensation was received. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Our Shutterfly Photo Album & A GIVEAWAY!!!
Have you ever given a photobook as a present? Do you have that hard to buy for family member on your list who might appreciate a life long family treasure like this?
I thought I would share our photo album made on Shutterfly with my readers. This was a lot more work than I thought it was, but that was because I was customizing everything. But if you are not about customizing every little thing like I did, it can be as simple as uploading all your pictures, picking an album style and having Shutterfly insert all your pictures.
I think the book we made would make a wonderful gift for either of our parents. I was thinking of making a book for each of my children to review 2012. I have done a few books in the past reviewing our summer or a family photo session (like the one before) and the kids love looking through the book.
Here is another example of a Shutterfly book --

Review: EasyCanvasPrints.com
This review for EasyCanvasPrints.com really could not have been any easier. I took opportunity to use our new photos we had taken and a bedroom makeover (part of my most recent Friday 4-part series) to develop a new picture to hang on our bedroom wall.
I was gifted with an 8x10 wrapped canvas to review their website and product. My first impression of their website was very favorable. It was so easy to complete my order and customize it. They have sizes starting at 8x8 all the way up to 30x40 or you can make a custome size. All the prints come with a standard wrap of .75", but you can upgrade to a 1.5" gallery wrap. You can also add a frame if you desire.
I like that when you pick out a size it show you just how big it would look in comparison to a 7' couch.
Once you pick out your size and gallery wrap style, you will be asked to upload your picture. You will be directed whether or not it is a good quality of picture to use. You can upload a picture from your computer or even choose an image from Facebook or Instagram. After uploading, you can move your picture around a bit to fit the image within the size you chose.
Next you will choose your border wrap, which can be a mirror image, an image wrap (which is what I did and the picture continues to wrap around - see the picture below) or a border color.
Here you can see how the image wrap looks and how the corners & sides look.
Final options are all optional - you can change the image to B&W or Sepia or have some retouching done. And that's it! Click Add to Cart and check out!
I was also impressed with how fast my order was processed and it was shipped to me. I was sent an email in less than 24 hours that said my order was complete. I had selected standard shipping and it was on my doorstep within 3 days of getting my shipment notification.
I was very impressed with the quality of work that my picture was. This was my first experience with a wrapped canvas photograph and it will not be my last.

Try It Tuesday: Create an Outdoor Photo Scavenger Hunt
Remember my list of 100 Things To Do This Summer? Well, this is one of them. We did this last year and she had a ton of fun. It was one of those times when my daughter was complaining of extreme boredom and we couldn't leave the house when her brother was napping, so I thought I would let her run around the yard with my camera and a little bit of guidance at what pictures to take and see what she came up with.
I didn't list anything too specific because I wanted to see where her creativity lead her. I found that a list of 25 things can keep her busy for a little while. What I love about this activity is that she is so excited to show me what she came up with. Sometimes it is just a hoot!
Below is the full size version that will be easier to print off. It should be a larger size (than the one above) when you click on the image.

Wordless Wednesday #1
I have seen many other have a post called "Wordless Wednesday" as one or maybe the only post of the day. I like that idea to let the picture tell you a story, or in the case for my first Wordless Wednesday, a series of photos. In order for me to have a theme (I like themes!) I plan to include a picture(s) of a field trip or activity I did with one or both of my kids.
