Cutting and sewing this is simple and only basic sewing skills are needed. I had found coordinating flannel fabrics in the remnants section (they sell remnant at 50% the current sale price) at JoAnn Fabrics. I will give you the measurements you need to make it to fit the bunk beds, but I didn't quite have the width, with it being a remnant, but it was close enough so I was ok with it.
Padded Mattress
20"x11" 2 pieces of fabric
19 1/2 x 10 1/2 1 piece of batting
Pillow
5"x10" 2 pieces of fabric
4 1/2 x 9 1/2 1 piece of batting
Blanket
15"x10 2 pieces if fabric
To make the padded mattress or pillow: Place right sides of fabric together and place batting on top of the top wrong side. Pin Together. Stitch around 3 sides. Turn right sides out with batting in the center. Fold over raw edges to the inside. Pin down. Stitch fourth side.
To make blanket: Place right sides of fabric together and pin together. Stitch around 4 sides, leaving an unstitched gap of 1-2". Pull the right sides through this gap. Fold in the gap so the raw edges are in the inside and stitch closed.
