Review: Ultimate Omega Junior & Vitamin C Gummies

We have been working through using these review samples of Nordic Naturals Vitamin C Gummies and Ultimate Omega Junior capsules for a while now, plus all the individual samples you can see that they sent me in the bottle picture.

My kids just loved the Nordic Naturals Vitamin C Gummies. What's not too love about them? They are tasty and in the shape of cute little orange slices. Just 2 of these little slices is a serving and contains 250mg of Vitamin C, which is DV 417%. They contain no artificial coloring, flavoring or preservatives and are 100% vegetarian (no gelatin!) My complaint is that there is only 60 in a bottle and with 2 kids each having 2 a day, we go through the bottle in 15 days. I like to buy enough for a month supply, so I guess I will have to buy 2 bottle at a time.

The other product we reviewed was the Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega Junior, which is a fish oil that contains double the strength fish oil in half the size capsule. Honestly, as an adult I prefer a smaller capsule as well and like the size of the Junior capsule like this, but when I compared the nutritional information on both the larger size in the adult capsule does offer twice as much Omega 3s in the form of EPA, DHA and other Omega-3s (which is the same formula in the Junior Capsules). It does say that they capsules are chewable, but my kids did not like the flavor of them at all, but my 8 year old was fine with this as a swallowable capsule. My (almost) 5 year old hasn't really used many swallowable products before and had a little trouble with it.

I need to but more of the Ultimate Omega to see if it helps again with my daughter's eczema. My daughter had never had eczema outside of the winter season, but she did this summer and it was clearing up nicely when she was taking the Ultimate Omega, a probiotic and using hydrocortisone on the affected area. Her eczema has come back in the same spot on the back of her leg and doesn't look good and we are going to try using the Ultimate Omega again with a probiotic, but this time I am going to try using coconut oil on her eczema to see how that helps. The hydrocortisone no longer seems to be affective and I would rather try something more natural and see how that helps her body.

GIVEAWAY and Review: Foxbrim Argan Oil

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I am not stranger to Argan oil, but the Foxbrim brand is new to me. I have been using Argan oil for a couple years now after is was recommended by a hair stylist because I have processed naturally curly hair and was told it would absorb in to the hair and not just be on the surface of the hair, so it becomes part of my hair and replenishes it. Up to this point I have only been using it on my hair and I can show you some before and after pictures below, but I also decided to try it on my son's dry eczema patches (which since it is spring now are pretty much gone, but little dry spots left).

You can see that my hair does have some shine it it already because I have been using argan oil, but I need a hair cut badly and so my ends are kind of dry (the hair cut is coming this weekend when my daughter and I go in and get cuts and make donations to Locks of Love (mine, since I have processed hair) and Pantene Beautiful Lengths (since she had virgin hair.)

I do want to mention that Foxbrim Argan oil is 100% argan oil from Morocco. This is very important to know because Moroccan oil has gotten a lot of attention as a wonderful beauty product in the media, but yo need to make sure you are getting 100% argan oil. Some products that call themselves Moroccan oil contain other products and oils besides argan oil, so be sure to read the ingredients list to make sure you know what you are getting.

Using just a dime size amount of argan oil on my entire head of hair I can instantly add more shine and as the day continues the argan oil will be absorbed more and more into my hair and moisturize it.

So, here I decided to try it on my son's eczema spots since it is a good moisturizer, but it also says it is good for reliving redness and reducing inflammation. We are at the tale end of the winter eczema season for my kids, so this is really nothing, but I thought it was the perfect small spot to test out to make sure that they didn't feel anything because believe it or not there have been different eczema creams that sting my kids although the interesting thing is that what stings one is the best eczema cream for the other and vice versa. So, I was very excited to see that this was absorbed right away in to the skin of my son and cleared up that dryness. I plan to try this on my daughter as well and have my fingers crossed that she responds just as well and then I will no longer have to buy eczema creams and just use argan oil that I am already buying for myself.

You can buy Foxbrim Argan Oil on Amazon.

After reading the reviews on Amazon, I know now that the next place I am going to try it out is on my nails. I have always had nails (both fingers and toes) that peel and crack and I am going to see if argan oil will help me with those.

GIVEAWAY and Review: Tri-Calm Cream (2 WINNERS!)

I get such dry skin in the winter that it just itches. I have even gotten a few dry, red spots that itch on parts of my body (which is new to me) and it relieved the itching immediately and provided moisture to the area to also help relieve the dryness. My kids both deal with winter eczema and at times it can be extremely itchy and bothersome, and Tri-Calm has been very helpful in offering them relief.

I anticipate we may use this if we have any burns, sun burns, or rashes (although, hopefully we don't) and I am sure we will use it once it warms up again here in MN and those pesky mosquitoes come back. I am anxious to see how well it does at relieving itchy bug bites. I am willing to bet it does a great job like it does with our dry winter skin itchies.

It is also helpful with relieving itching from nickel allergy, which I have. I am good about making sure I am not putting my skin in direct contact with something with nickel in it, but sometimes manufacturing standards are different in different countries about metal content. So, I know I can use this if I get a rash from that allergy.

GIVEAWAY and Review: Sodee Naturals

I am so excited to tell you about the products from Sodee Naturals that my family and myself have been using for the past 2 weeks.

The first product I want to tell you about is the 4 different types of eczema cream (original, lanolin-free, anti-itch, and seabuckthorn.) Both of my children get eczema in the winter, and while my daughter has begun to outgrow it my son still get patches all over his little legs. Between both kids we have used every eczema cream out there, including prescription). My favorite was the original and I found it to a good thickness - Not too thick and not too thin. I was also pleased with the effectiveness. After one application the redness was gone and after several applications the dry patches were gone.

I had never used a shampoo or conditioner bar, so this was a new experience for me. I wash my hair only a few times a week (but this naturally curly mop needs conditioner daily!). I surprised at how little I had to rub my hands on the shampoo bar to work up a lather. I am going to have this shampoo bar for a LOOOOOoooong time! The conditioner bar applied easily and worked well and I will be interested to see how long it lasts because after 2 weeks of use it is just barely noticeable that it has been used.

My husband was the lucky recipient of the shave cream. He said it works just as well as anything else he has ever used for shaving. They only thing is he is getting used to spreading on a lotion instead of a foam, so it's just a texture thing based on what he is used to. It performs just as well and shaves similarly. He does like the lighter scent (over what he was using previously that tended to be much stronger.)
The bar of soap I opted to review is the Dark Beer Soap. I thought my husband would enjoy this soap, which he did. I could it interesting to learn that hops is anti-inflammatory.

It is one of 4 varieties of soap. The other varieties are old fashioned lace soap, satsuma soap and sea salt soap. I am not sure I know what satsuma smells like, but I am now curious.
When I first opened up the Tropical Breeze Body Butter, I thought it smelled good enough to eat. I love wearing it. It covers smoothly with a minimal amount of body butter. I have had several people smell this and they agree it smells fantastic.

I am very pleased with this body butter. It makes my skin feel better and smell like I am on a tropical island. Highly recommend!
