Free Entrance Days at National Parks This Weekend

More than 100 National Parks charge an entrance fee (although almost 300 never do), but this weekend you will get free entrance in to all the National Parks for Martin Luther Jr. King Weekend.


Mark your calendar for these fee-free dates in 2012:

• January 14-16
  Martin Luther King Jr. weekend
• April 21-29
  National Park Week
• June 9
  Get Outdoors Day
• September 29
  National Public Lands Day
• November 10-12
  Veterans Day weekend

Be sure to check with the National Park, as they may also have a sponsored event that you can attend. A couple that are happening this weekend are a Martin Luther King Celebration at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore and 231st Battle Anniversary Celebration at the Cowpens National Battlefield in South Carolina.
