These Sun Cups Candy were quite tasty for a review. I was just sent the 2 packages show above and I am a mom, so I had to share. So, each one of the four us got 1 cup to ourselves. We were just sent Milk Chocolate Cup, but they also sell Dark Chocolate Cups, Mint Cup (my daughter would really love these) Milk Chocolate Caramel Cups (oooh! I would love these!) as well as Milk Chocolate Bars and Darn Chocolate Bars. These candies are all gluten-free and nut-free.
So, I asked each of my family members what they thought and here is what they had to say:
Husband: It's good. The center is very creamy.
Daughter: I like them better than the peanut butter kind. The chocolate tastes sweeter than usual.
Son: Good. (Me: Ummmm, can you say more? Do you like them better than peanut butter cups?) They are peanut butter cups. (Me: No, they are sunflower butter cups.) Well, they taste like peanut butter to me. (Me: But they're not.)
Me: Well, unlike my son I think they taste like sunflower butter. I agree with my husband that the filling seems creamier than PB cups and I agree with my daughter that the chocolate tasted sweeter than other candies, but in a good way.
Product Description from Sun Cups
MILK CHOCOLATE SUN CUPS When it comes to classics, the peanut butter cup falls somewhere between blue jeans and convertibles, delighting the masses for generations. Still, millions were unable to experience the confectionary legend. So we gave it a mouth-watering makeover, filling creamy all natural milk chocolate with roasted sunflower seed butter. Now, those with peanut allergies, gluten intolerance or just a persnickety sweet tooth can live the dream for themselves.
You can buy them ONLINE from Sun Cups or Find then in a Store (MN Readers - they sell them at Lakewinds Food Co-op in Richfield, WI Readers - many locations for you, and a few other locations in the US.)
