My Thursday "Theme"

I like having a daily theme for M-F and try to post content and/or pictures for each day. I struggled with coming up for an idea for Thursday and then it hit me! Actually, at the same time I came up with two ideas.

Toddler Thursday (yes, I know there is such a thing as Toddler Tuesday but why not do something on Thursday too) - this post will feature simple things to do with your child in your home and community. You often see some of our field trips in my Wordless Wednesday post and you see some of our crafts in Try-It Tuesday posts, but what about the simple little things we often do. I would like to share those with you and give you some ideas of things to do as well.

Thrifty Thursday - I realized I only have another year before my toddler is a preschooler, plus often I may have something to post that does not have to do with my Toddler. I could very well see Toddler Tuesday morph in to Thrifty Thursday as my son gets older. Maybe I should just call it Thrifty Thursday to begin with. This will also be a good heading to put my introduction to by bi-monthly posts on Northern Cheapskate under.

What do you think?

I am starting to think Thrifty Thursday could fit both well and simplifies things.

Where do the giveaways & reviews fit? I also try to keep my postings for giveaway/review on Monday and Tuesday and reviews (only, no giveaway) on Thursday or Saturday. I know it drives traffic to the blog and I really love trying out new products, but I want people to come back for the content.

Some weeks/days I don't have content for every week day, but I try.

Make-It Monday - a new recipe
Try-It Tuessday - a craft tutorial
Wordless Wednesday - pictures of our adventures & explorations
Thrifty Thursday - read above
Fix-It Friday - Playing Mrs. Fix-It Around Our Home/Yard/etc. and giving you the down low

Seriously, you don't know how much it was bothering me that I had this day with no theme. I like blogging and I devote a lot of time to it and want to have a good blog, even if I don't get paid to do it.

Try-It Tuesday: Easy Furry Dog Toddler Craft

This is a fun easy craft project to make with your toddler. I have minimal drawing skills, but you are welcome to print off the dog picture that I drew below, or draw one of your own.
So, all I did was draw out the dog picture, but you could make it a cat or any other type of furry animal.
I just gathered a bunch of yarn scraps that I cut up to a "shaggy" length, some buttons to use for spots, some googly eyes and a button nose and a heart sticker (not pictured) for the mouth, and some glue.
I applied glue over the entire project (within the drawing of the dog, except for the eyes, nose & mouth) and let my son fill in with yarn. He tended to like to apply the yarn in the same area. Then I put glue on the face for the nose & eyes and had him apply those and the heart sticker mouth . Next he would show me where he wanted to put the "spots" and then I put glue in those locations and he put the buttons on.

He was very proud of his project and his doggie (he just loves animals, so I knew this craft project would be a hit with him) and couldn't wait to hang it up.

GIVEAWAY and Review: Cedar's Mediterranean Foods 2 WINNERS!

I had the opportunity to review a couple of products from Cedar Mediterranean Foods. These were the only 2 products that I was able to find in my Midwest grocery stores. They are a favorite brand of Mediterranean foods in the New England States, so readers in those locations will have better luck finding more of the foods they offer.

Their line of food products include:
Hommus
Tzatziiki
Pita Chips
Wraps
Spinach Dip
Salsa
Feta Spread
Halva
Mediterranean Salads
Snack Packs

Many of each type of product includes a variety of flavors.

The Tzatziki Dip was a favorite in our family. Giving a dip to kids is a sure way to encourage them to eat their vegetables. This was very tasty and my kids will finish their plate of veggies and dip and ask for more.
The hommus tasted great with my homemade pita bread (which is so easy to make!) and some celery. I also like to eat other vegetables with my hommus or to use it as a sandwich spread/filling. I love hommus, especially the garlicky kind.
2 WINNERS WILL EACH WIN A PAIR OF COUPONS FOR FREE PRODUCT.
The first winner drawn will get the top coupons and the second winner drawn will get the bottom 2 coupons.

You can also find COUPONS for some of these products on their website.

GIVEAWAY & Review: Teas' Tea by ITO EN

I had the opportunity to review Teas' Tea by ITO EN in two different flavors: Pure Unsweetened Green Tea and Jasmine Green Tea.

I am a tea drinker and tend to drink hot tea more often, mainly because it takes more time and planning to have iced tea since you have to steep it and then allow it to cool. I generally make  one cup of tea at a time, which is better suited to hot tea but when I make iced tea I do make a whole pitcher. But more often, I end up having iced tea when I buy it in individual containers like these ones from Teas' Tea.

My first tea I tried was the Jasmine Tea. If you have ever had Jasmine tea, then you know what it tastes like and you will not be disappointed. Jasmine tea has a slightly floral taste to it.
I have not seen Jasmine tea on the market before as a flavor option, so this is exciting for those Jasmine Tea fans out there. I do appreciate that they offer 7 varieties of unsweetened tea. I often find that many sweetened teas on the market are too heavily sweetened. I prefer my iced tea to be unsweetened or to add my own if I need to satisfy my sweet tooth.

The Pure Unsweetened Green Tea was wonderful. Just how you expect a green iced tea to taste. I say it like that because if it tasted otherwise, that would indicate that there was something else besides tea in the product, which there is not.

A couple things worth noting is that they have no added colors
or flavors and are packaged in recycleable bottles that are BPA FREE.

They also make a light of low-calorie teas, which are sweetened with cane sugar and come in a variety of flavors. Only 40 calories per serving. I look forward to trying those some day soon,

Please click on the pictures to read more about the different varieties of tea and information about them.

From their website:
A little more of a story: Yoga + Green Tea = the perfect marriage When we realized that Beth Shaw, founder of YogaFit, was purchasing our Teas’ Tea 2Liter bottles of Jasmine Green tea by the case, and Beth always carries around a 2L Jasmine Green Tea, it was clear that we could not ask for a better brand ambassador. The holistic lifestyle of yoga including the awareness of how you care for yourself body, mind and soul - and the health benefits and wellness of Green Tea is truly in perfect alignment.
“Like YogaFit, ITO EN is a leader in their category. ITO EN teas are natural, committed to health and top quality. I LOVE Ito En green tea because it is truly the only beverage that is anti aging, good for weigh management and gives me just the right amount of energy to get through my busy life. I drink it every day,” explains Beth Shaw enthusiastically, "Nothing Gets Between Me and My Ito En Jasmine Green."
