My Thoughts:
"Coming Home for Christmas" is a sweet and family friendly new movie that has been released to DVD this year. The story line is simplistic enough for children to understand even though the dynamics of the family are more complicated. I watched this movie with my husband, but will not hesitate to watch it with my 7 1/2 year old daughter. The plot is predictable and does have a happy ending. The overall theme of the story is holding tight to family ties and practicing forgiveness and overcoming obstacles together as a family. I did have a hard time buying the "mom" character only because I think they cast her too young. Some parts were super cheesy, but I think those types of interactions will be appealing towards younger audiences who might miss out on subtle nuances. It is a nice, wholesome movie that I think would be enjoyed by families with younger kids.
Below you can see a short preview of the movie to see what you think.

It is so hard to get quality movies these days. Even though our daughters are grow with families of their own, we still only view movies with a PG 13 rating or lower. We have nothing in our home that us not family friendly.
