FREE Paddling Events this Weekend on the Minnesota River

Check out the list of sites participating in the MN DNR Paddle the Minnesota River in the Day event. 

This is a FREE event!

Each of the public paddles in the list have different requirements in regards to skill level or if canoes are provided or if you need to bring your own. Lengths of time/distance are provided for each one, as well as contact info to register. There are 6 public paddles and half of them have canoes available to use. So, get registered right away to see if there is one available if you need it.

This month from April 18-25 is National Parks Week and they allow FREE admission in to all national parks. There are over 400 parks that you can get free admission to. Check with your nearest CEC movie theatres to see if they are also participating in this promotion. This is from the one closest to me. All Day on Tuesdays, EVERYONE only pays $5 to see a movie. I just wanted to share with you my go to place to find online coupons. Just this week I was placing at order at World Market (they have an awesome sale on 750mL Torani syrups for $3.99 each - THAT's HALF OFF!!!, check it out! It might still be there, I placed my order on Monday) and before I clicked the submit button I went over to CurrentCodes.com to see if there was any coupons to use and sure enough there was a 10% off coupon. Score! That pretty much paid for my shipping & handling. So, I was happy since I was going to order regardless of a coupon or not, so it pays to check.

Free Family Concerts at the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra

Twice a year, the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra in St. Paul, MN offers a drawing for free tickets to upcoming fall concerts. Well, that time has come again to register for your free tickets.

Are your kids between sizes like mine are? For my son, 2T is too short but 3T is still too long. Previously the only solution was roll them up. But rolled up pants don't stay rolled up for very long and before you know it you have a kid tripping over there pants or wearing out the cuff that they are walking on.

The solution is My Hike Pant Cuff Fasteners! I would liken them to decorative sturdy paperclips. They work in much the same way as a paper clip does where you hold two or more items together by sliding those things (in this case fabric) between the fastener. Where it differs from a paperclip is that it slides up (instead of down), it is a very sturdy plastic, and you have seven different designs to choose from.

I chose the dump truck design to review for my son, but I was really thinking I like the train design as well, plus there is a baseball and soccer ball design as well. For my daughter, I would have a hard time choosing between the princess crown, butterfly and flower. Each package is a set of 2 so that you can hold each pant cuff up.

If you also want to think outside the box on how to use these, they would be great to help keep long sleeves up when you are trying to keep a child from getting them wet or messy.
