Make It Monday: Fossil Cookies

This was on my son's List of Summer Goals to make Fossil Cookies. He has been on a huge dinosaur kick for months now and tells me he wants to be a paleontologist when he grows up. He plays with his dinosaurs like my daughter plays with her dolls by working through social situations by having the dinosaurs take on typical human roles. It is so interesting to watch kids play.

You could make your own Sugar Cookie Dough, or in this case I bought some pre-made stuff from the store and enlisted my son's help in placing the dough on the pan.

I wanted this to be his project and he liked that he could do it all in one sitting. Then I washed a bunch of his dinosaurs and let him start making prints on each of the cookies. When all the prints were made, I have his sugar sprinkles and let him decorate around his fossils. He enjoyed this very much and was very happy to share the cookies he made with everyone that came over that day and tell them that he made the fossil cookies.
