My daughter & I started this from seed from something we bought in a grocery store? Do you know what it is?

So far the correct answer has not been given. I will post it tomorrow morning, in the comments here as well as on my Facebook wall.

A clue though, they can only be grown outdoors year-round in USDA zones 7 to 10. (We are 4)

They are pomegranates.

What I found online said they should have sprouted within 2 weeks (they did not), but then I forgot about our baggie of seeds in a wet paper towel taped to the window (back of the house) and after a month when I went to throw it away I saw 2 little sprouts.
